The Apollo Chamber Players (L-R): Matthew Dudzik, Aria Cheregosha, Matthew Detrick, and Anabel Ramirez-Detrick

On May 24, 2024, The Apollo Chamber Players will present Muted, the final concert of the ensemble’s “Silenced Voices” season. The concert focuses, in part, on mental health, and features Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet as a focal point of the performance. (Schumann, a beloved composer, is also remembered for his mental health challenges).

Music–from classical, to classic rock, to country, hip hop, really anything–whether played or simply listened to, can have a powerful influence on our mental health.

In the audio above, we discuss that with Matthew Detrick, the artistic director and violinist of the Apollo Chamber Players, and Molly Cueto, clinic director at Ellie Mental Health. Through a partnership with area mental health organizations including EMH, there will be a discussion about music and mental health presented alongside the concert, featuring Cueto.
