UK is not safe for Meghan Markle! We are not but Prince Harry of the British family thinks so. The Duke of Sussex’s rift with his royal family is far away from over, and amid this, the royal has shared why he thinks that his homeland is unsafe for his wife.
In a new documentary on Britain’s ITV, Tabloids on Trial, Harry talked about his fight with Britain’s tabloid as he went on to share that he will not bring his wife Markle to the UK because he has fears of an “acid” or knife attack”.
The 39-year-old royal said, “It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read.”
He added, “And whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”
After stepping down as working royals, no police protection has been provided to the royal couple. Since moving to the USA, Meghan has visited the UK very few times. The last time she was in her husband’s homeland was to attend the Queen’s funeral in September 2022.
Prince Harry stepped back from his royal role in 2020 to build a new life in the USA with his wife, Meghan Markle and son Archie. Later, the couple welcomed their second child, daughter Lilibet, in Montecito, California.
In the same interview, Harry, who has been embroiled in legal battles against British tabloids, said his “mission” against them partly caused his rift with his father King Charles and his brother Prince William’s family.
When asked if his legal battle with the media has “destroyed the relationship with your family,” Harry replied, “I think that’s certainly a central piece to it. But that’s a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press. I’ve made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done, it would be nice if we did it as a family. I believe that, from a service standpoint and when you’re in a public role, these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. I’m doing this for my reasons.”
