“Our health is our wealth:” Miss USA resigns from title, cites mental health

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Miss USA 2023 is stepping away from the crown.

Sarasota native Noelia Voigt announced Monday that she will be resigning from the title to focus on her mental health.

Miss USA also released a statement wishing Voigt the best on future endeavors, saying, “Thank you, Noelia, for your service as Miss USA. We wish you the best in this next chapter. We respect and support former Miss USA Noelia Voigt’s decision to step down from her duties. The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritize herself at this time.”

Voigt was crowned Miss USA on Sept. 29, 2023 after campaigning on messages of anti-bullying, dating violence awareness, and immigration reform. She was the first Venezuelan-American woman to hold the title.

Miss USA said they will be announcing her successor soon.
