LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky’s largest nonprofit addiction recovery organization, Isaiah House, is joining forces with the Lexington Rescue Mission to open its first outpatient health center in Lexington

The CEO of Isaiah House, Nick Wren, says the premise of this health center is to eliminate all barriers, so anyone who needs help can walk through these doors and get it.”

“Our heart is to serve whoever needs it,” Wren said.

Wren says this center will ensure they have access to treatment in a timely manner.

“If we are going to do the work that we believe we are called to do in helping them reintegrate successfully and find, what our mission terms, lifelong success in their recovery we need to do the work of maintaining that connection.”

Isaiah House has seven residential treatment centers across the Commonwealth. Wren says many of their clients are Fayette Countians who want to get back home when they complete treatment. He says knowing they have access to care can provide that comfort.

“If you want to live, you have to keep your health up, and when I was so lost in the madness, I did not care about my health,” said Anthony Bennett, a graduate of Isaiah House’s 11-month transformation program

“I was a lost soul there for a while,” said Bennett. “I was so down and out, and I prayed to God, and this is where he led me.”

Bennett says for anyone who’s experiencing homelessness or struggling with substance use disorder, as he did, getting your health back on track is imperative to the rebuilding process.

“i’ve got a good family, my own place. I’ve built everything back up,” Bennett said.

Lexington Rescue Mission says this center goes beyond care.

“We also have Jubilee Jobs on site, so between the three of our ministries, it’s going to really provide a comprehensive continuum of care for people who are in need,” said Laura Carr, the executive director of the Lexington Rescue Mission.

Wren says they’re in a good spot right now to be open within the next 60 days. He says in the meantime, anyone who’s in need of help or knows someone who is can always reach out to the Isaiah House.
