Mental Health Fair at Camp Rapid provides support to veterans in need

Must read

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – One in four veterans struggle with mental health issues. Rapid City’s local chapters of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans want to address this, and the two organizations teamed up to put together a Mental Health Fair Saturday at Camp Rapid. The fair allowed veterans in attendance to meet with groups offering mental health assistance.

“May is Mental Health Awareness month, and so we wanted to do something to celebrate mental health,” said Veterans Affairs Local Recovery Coordinator Stardust Red Bow. “Having good mental health is important for everyone, especially our veterans.”

Veterans who were not able to attend the fair can still reach out to the local branches of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans for mental health support.
