BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – The 45th annual Med Center Health 10K Classic has opened registration for this year’s races, taking place on Saturday, September 14.
Four races will be a part of the event this year: the Med Center Health 10K Classic, a 5K run/walk, a 10K wheelchair race for men and women and the Children’s Classic for kids in grades K-5, according to a press release.
The location chosen for this years Med Center Health 10K Classic is Western Kentucky University.
Sarah Widener, Director of Community Wellness for Med Center Health, emphasized the benefits of participating in a 5 or 10K race.
“If someone is seeking motivation to start exercising regularly, training for the race is a great place to start with a goal in mind,” she said.
In addition, Widener encourages those who prefer walking to sign up for either the 5 or 10K depending on their fitness level and encourages making community races an annual tradition.
There are also volunteer opportunities present for those unable to participate in the races offered.
