LEWISTON, Maine (WABI) – The Independent Commission investigating the mass shooting in Lewiston met again Thursday morning.

They took testimony from Col. Mark Ochoa, a representative of the Psychological Health Program for the Army Reserve.

Ochoa took questions from the commission members made up of medical and legal professionals.

Among many questions during the hearing Ochoa was asked what should be done if someone in the Army Reserve is unresponsive in attempts to be contacted by a Partial Hospitalization Program.

”From a medical perspective, we’re always here. So I would say that would be a command decision as far as how they move forward. Because it’s not just are they going to their battle assembly? From a medical perspective, we’re not going away ma’am,” said Ochoa.

The commission intends to release its final report on the shootings this summer.
