Laredo Public Health expands vaccination access

Must read

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Laredo Public Health is ramping up its efforts to ensure that everyone in the community has access to essential vaccinations. Starting Tuesday, May 28, individuals with insurance coverage or the ability to pay out of pocket will be able to receive a range of vaccinations at Laredo Public Health facilities.

The expanded services will include flu shots, COVID-19 shots for children aged 6 months to 4 years, HPV shots, chickenpox shots, and shots for shingles.

Jaime Perez, spokesperson for the Laredo Health Department, emphasized the inclusivity of the initiative, stating, “Through this private stock, we can offer to all individuals throughout our city — underinsured, uninsured, with insurance, or if you want to self-pay for them, we offer those vaccines.”

This move builds upon Laredo Public Health’s existing programs, such as the Texas Vaccines for Children and Adult Safety Net initiatives, which have historically catered to the needs of uninsured and underinsured populations.

Residents interested in obtaining more information or scheduling a vaccination appointment can reach out to Laredo Public Health by calling 956-795-4906.
