Laredo health fair celebrates Pride with free services

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Laredo Public Health is hosting a special health fair at the Haynes Recreation Center in observance of Pride Month.

Residents can receive free HIV and STI testing, blood pressure checks, and mental health screenings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.

Dr. Richard Chamberlain, Director of Laredo Public Health, emphasized the event’s goal of inclusivity in collaboration with the Gateway City Pride Association.

“It’s important for us to demonstrate our commitment to all communities here in Laredo,” Dr. Chamberlain stated. “We’re providing various health services to ensure equity for everyone.”

In addition to health screenings, the event will feature Zumba sessions, games, and refreshments. The health fair takes place at 2102 Clarks Crossing Drive.
