Governor Polis signs multiple health related bills into law

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – On Monday, Governor Jared Polis signed bills into law to support Coloradans with disabilities.

Nearly a dozen new bills were signed into law, the biggest ones being house Bill 24-1115, Prescription Drug Label Accessibility, and House Bill 24-1322, Medicaid Coverage Housing & Nutrition Services.

The first bill provides prescription drug label accessibility, it requires a pharmacy to provide people who have difficulty seeing or reading the standard print access to the prescription drug label either electronically with larger print or having a reader at no additional charge.

The second bill will make the Department of Health care policy and financing conduct a study to explore the option of seeking federal authorization to provide nutrition. Housing and other services that address Medicaid members’ health related needs.
