Eau Claire City-County Health Department continues to seek dog that bit a man

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire City-County Health Department continues to ask the public for help in finding a dog that bit a man on Saturday.

In an updated press release, the Health Department shared a photo of the dog. The Health Department also said that they are hoping to identify and speak with the dog’s owner to check that the dog is up to date on their rabies shots.

The initial news release of the incident from the Health Department says that on May 11, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., a man was bitten by a dog at the Maple Manor Hotel in Eau Claire, Wis.

After the incident, the dog ran southeast between South Hastings Way and US Highway 53.

The press release describes the dog as a large, brown, shepherd-type breed.
